Sheila received her Tennessee law license in the fall of 2017, but she is not new to the law. She began working as a paralegal in 1980—while still in high school—and never looked back. After raising her children, Sheila went back to school and attended Middle Tennessee State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Sociology with a specific focus on genocide, social movement, and social change. She also had minors in Psychology and Political Science.
Sheila then went straight to law school, where she attended Nashville School of Law. Along the way, she obtained her 200RYT to teach Yoga, her certification as a barre fitness instructor through Tracey Mallett, and owned her own yoga studio (Om Yoga, Mind-Body-Spirit) in McMinnville, Tennessee.
Sheila regularly conducts workshops in reducing work place stress and speaks to community groups on various topics, including stress reduction utilizing yoga and meditation and legal matters such as elder law and family law. She believes that families are vital to the fabric of our society. It is this passion that led her to the law, and she practices with compassion, integrity, and respect. Sheila currently works out of our Sparta and McMinnville offices, but is also available in Cookeville by appointment.
